For 50 years I sometimes counted the last days before summer break, mainly because there was so much "housekeeping" and interruptions from the administrative chores that it wasn't really teaching. But I also counted the days, positively, before the start of the new school year, so maybe others do the same. Endings are often hard, but we're lucky to have the possibility of new beginnings.
